One fashion item that will never go out of style is a plaid shirt.
The great thing is that designers are updating it in so many ways that you can basically wear a plaid shirt to any event! Although they are mostly worn casually with pants (denim, khaki and even leather), now you can also wear them tucked in skirts, worn as a layering piece under blazers, sleeveless vests, sweaters and even as a bathing suit cover! You name it, there is one for you.
STYLE TIP: The latest update to wearing plaid is wearing 2 plaids together either a plaid bottom with a plaid shirt or a plaid blazer with a different plaid shirt.
I understand that if this sounds over the top for you, another option would be to use an accessory in a different plaid then the plaid shirt you are wearing.
Here is my plaid on plaid casual style wearing a bright plaid scarf with a navy neutral plaid shirt.
Keep scrolling as I have also included some other photos of how you may wear this style.
Here are other ideas on how you may wear this double plaid style this winter
1. Keep similar colors in both plaid designs but in the reverse while varying plaid sizes.
2. Double up on plaids that have the same overall color in different sizes. This creates a softer look and blends well together.
3. Use a neutral plaid to compliment a brighter plaid.
HAPPY HOLIDAYS!!
Color your style, color your food, color your life!
