Mother’s Day is just around the corner and I have been thinking of what a mother, being a mother myself, would really appreciate or need.
So forget about scented candles, silk pyjamas, perfume or any other classic mother’s day gifts. I decided to make a new kind of list that is more modern, yet has some really helpful and time saving gifts. After all, I often hear mother’s say that they don’t have enough time to make time for themselves.
Even if everyone can use these gifts, my explanation will be specifically for how mother’s can benefit from these items.

It was nominted as the 2017 Apple App of the year. Does it surprise you that most people are looking for an anxiety-free, with quality sleep or a calmer life? Well, mother’s are no different especially if they are sleep-deprived. Sometimes, more like most nights, I need time to unwind from the chaos of the day, so I have been listening to this app in bed which helps to induce rest and deep sleep. What is great is that you don’t need to attend a class or struggle fitting it in your schedule since it can be done from anywhere with your phone, iPad or computer. For a yearly or monthly fee you can access doyens of guided meditation that focuses on specific topics such as deep sleep, gratitude, happiness, anxiety which is something that we all need more often then not.
It is very easy to follow since you can choose from 2, 5, 10, 15 minutes sessions or longer if needed. The voice is soothing and it actually helps me to stop the noise and voices in my head when I am trying to sleep.
2. SHOULDER AND NECK MASSAGER
How many times have you asked or wished for a neck massage? Most of our tension usually stays in this area especially when we are carrying a child in our arms. My partner actually bought this at Costco since we both need and enjoy getting massages to help us relax and release the muscle knots in our bodies. I used to enjoy getting a massage, unfortunately, it has become very difficult to find time to go without my 2 young kids. So…this is the next best thing, trust me, it helps and you can use it anywhere on the body. It has also become a travel essential for us after strenuous activities or a lot of walking. Another but pricier option would be a masseuse that does home visits which is also wonderful!
3. Travel Mug
When you are sleep-deprived and on the go for activities, appointments, daycare drop-off and so on…most probable you will find any mother with a cup of something in the car, on the stroller or directly in her hands. I will not leave the house without something to drink for the road. Regardless, what choice of drink makes you feel good, having a good mug for the road becomes very important. While having a pretty design on your cup is fun, in the end, having one that is well insulated and does not leak is the most important.

4. Subscription Box
The new way to order things is now with subscription boxes. I have recently been using a local fresh products delivery service (Lufa Farms in Montreal) and it is absolutely wonderful and hassle-free. If you can find such a service in your city, giving a subscription to a mother is the new way of helping without really helping. Although my service is similar to a grocery service that delivers pre-selected ingredients, there are other types of food services.

Women usually have tons of stuff in their bags, or divided in multiple handbags. Most of the time it can take a very long minute to find what we need. Well, wait until you’re a mom that actually needs a big bag filled with lots of necessary items at ALL times! What would make it much easier ….enters the handbag organizer.
I absolutely love this item. If I would start over, I would buy a normal-looking but quite large crossbody handball and simply add an organizer and voila!
