Malta was not planned. We wanted a quick 2 day getaway from our current stop in Tunisia and Malta hit the mark. However, once we arrived and saw the oh so beautiful views and immediately thought “wow, more people should visit this place!”

This is by far one of simplest yet powerful parenting tip I have ever read!
I heard on a podcast last year, Seth Godin, an author, genius marketing guru and father explain that he did this particular bedtime routine with his children until they were in high school. I thought it was clever, loving, simple yet a powerful parenting habit to share with you today.
Comments closedThis was a first to remember!
I remember being a little girl and whenever we would stay at a hotel with my family, we (the kids) always wanted to go to the top floor “just to see” where the presidential suite or penthouse was located. I remember the feeling going up the elevator and thinking, wow, this is exciting. I would wonder who you needed to be to actually stay in these large rooms. I thought only celebrities, royalty and presidents stayed in these rooms.
So when we were looking for places to stay on our recent trip to Tunisia, Kais wanted to surprise me and book something luxurious. Well it did not disappoint, it was grand, traditional and oh so beautiful that you never wanted to leave. When he said that he had negotiated (he always loves a good deal) the rooftop Presidential suite for one week, I was throughly excited! It reminded me of my childhood. My favourite part was that it had an outdoor pool opened 24 hours, the breakfast was served near our room, we were on the rooftop and the breakfast selection was absolutely delicious!

As promised, I am adding a second post with more photos of Istanbul for you to see. This city is by far one of my favourite destinations and I have explained the reasons why in my previous post here .
The friendliness, quality service, honesty, amazing prices, one of a kind products and beautiful landscapes was what got us hooked.
Comments closedIt is a fabric pattern that consists of multiples colors and regularly makes an appearance on the runways and in trend reports come Fall. What I really love is that the true Scottish plaids are often in rich hues of forest green, reds, blues, browns, oranges. In other words, plaid is a pattern that will never go out of style.
Comments closedThis was one of the most beautiful trips I have ever had the chance to experience!
The best part is it was spontaneous and with very little planning. The only thing we booked were the basics such as airplane tickets and hotels.
You know what, once upon a time…before I had kids… I used to buy travel books and research online for hours before going on a vacation about everything such as what to see, where to eat, what activities to do during that time, the festivals, the best views and so on.
Clearly if you are going somewhere far away that you might not visit again, then you really want to see the best of the best or the main attractions.
Well, this Summer we did not stop traveling, I had 3 big trips with only a few weeks or even only 1 week in between so needless to say, I kept everything to a minimum except for my meticulous planning on what to pack (such as putting outfits together to reduce the amount of stuff and buying mini travel size of my favourite products).
Comments closedThe start of a new season makes me think of flipping my closet from Summer to Fall and cleaning out what is either old, used or doesn’t fit anymore.
Another favorite thing is to search fashion’s forecast of the colors, shapes and patterns for the upcoming season. I use this as a guide, as a source of inspiration for my outfits, even though I usually stick to the similar shapes and pattern.
One of my favorite ways to transition from Summer into Fall weather is with jackets and shoes.

About a month ago I had an interesting conversation.
It was fashion revolution week and I was looking for new reading/listening material that would inspire me for future blog posts. I happened to find a lot of books that talked about the high cost of fashion, fast fashion and what really goes on behind the scenes. My brother who is living a minimalist lifestyle, which includes his limited wardrobe (do I really need 10 t-shirts when I can only wear 2?). After all, we know that very creative entrepreneurs, hum hum, Mark Zuckerberg and the late Steve Jobs kept wearing the same basic outfit (basic t-shirt or turtleneck with jeans). During our conversation, my brother mentioned that he had read that the fashion industry was one of the most polluted industries.
YIKES !
Being that I like to think that I am very eco-conscious, I recycle like crazy, try to eat clean food, try to shop more locally, I donate to Greenpeace efforts and support other environmentally friendly ways of living, this notion was nevertheless a little shocking.
I thought okay, how can someone that loves fashion adapt it’s closet to a more minimalist way of living without losing it’s colorful style?
In other words: « How can I apply this perspective to fashion without losing the fashion??? »
It may sound contradictory yet I had an Ah ha! moment that finds a way to combine both in a simple way.
