These are my 2018 favorite baby & toddler items tried, tested and that get the Citrus Love stamp of approval!
Since there are so many products available these days, it really helps when parents share the ones that they truly love and that are totally worth it.
If you have been following me, then you know that I enjoy trying new brands and products. A few are now on repeat whenever my baby or toddler grows out of them. In this post, I am only sharing with you items that I truly love and that I would definitely recommend if you asked me to choose for you.
Let’s get started!
Baby Gap Garter Hoodie Sweater: Everytime Daphne grows out of this sweater, I automatically order her a new one. The quality is great, thick, soft, breathable and can be found at GAP year round in colorful colors as well as basics. The bear ears on the hoodie is adorable and oh so picture worthy. You can find them here and here.
Mini Mioche Biker Rompers: This is the perfect winter outfit. It is an organic cotton fleece romper with an exposed zipper that opens to the ankle (of one leg) which makes it easy for diaper changes or simply removing it. I love that it comes in more colors then just basics. Although it is pricier, the quality, wash and wear, the organic fabric and more importantly the fact that it is made in Toronto is reason enough to buy. Please make sure to size up for comfort as it is not meant to be worn fitted.
Minimoc & Robeez: These are my go-to indoor soft sole slippers for my son who is 3 and perfect for my daughter who is now learning to walk. Minimoc are better for walking outside since the leather is thicker then Robeez. They are well made, easy to slip on and comes in many colors and prints which is much more fun.
Avent Baby Soothers: This one was gifted by my friend (who’s a nurse and works with babies) when Sasha would not stop crying. It was a life saver. It comes in sizes 0-3 and 3 months+ I LOVE them because they can put their finger inside and knaw on it to soothe their gums. Also, my best tip to parents with teething babies is to keep them in the freezer which is very soothing. I have made a few laugh because I have quite a few on rotation sitting in the freezer.
”my best tip to parents with teething babies is to keep them in the freezer which is incredibly soothing”
Some items you buy because the price is right and you need at least a dozen. Why? Blowouts, stains, constant changes during the day, need I say more… and you know babies grow so quickly. However, since babies has very sensitive skin I prefer to buy organic bodysuits. Surprisingly, H&M has amazing ones from their conscious collection. They are always available in multiples colors and a few prints. Honestly, I restock on their basic onesies until they can walk (although available up to size 3-4Y).
”They are amazing layering pieces.”
Munchkin heat sensitive spoons: I bought these for Daphne and absolutely love them! I was always afraid that her purees were too hot so these spoon turn white when it’s a no no. It makes it so much easier if you like these gadgets.
Grow with me leggings: If you have kids you obviously know how quickly babies grow out of their clothes in the years. There are a few Canadian companies that make some grow with me concept clothing. This is absolutely genius and simplifies having to constantly buy a new wardrobe every season. I have to give some love to this local company, Mes craquants crocos, that make hundreds of colorful prints with matching bibs for babies. Daphne has a pair and I have also gifted these to new moms. They are cute and fun! The only thing is that they are only sold through their Facebook page which you message them with the style you want to buy (check their photos for the prints and available sizing and message them to order). Also, for Summer they have some colorful fun printed short rompers.
Melissa & Doug Jumbo floor puzzle: I usually don’t recommend toys, however, my son absolutely loves this jumbo size puzzle, it is so big and impressive to do (he is almost 3) and does it almost everyday. I found other jumbo ones if your child isn’t in a car and big truck phase like mine, lol!
Nooks Design Baby Wool Booties: These are incredibly cute, gender neutral, stay on their feet, using recycled wool fabrics, warm and comes in many colorful options. Canadian made and amazing gift ideas! I was gifted a pair for Sasha and have bought it ever since for Daphne since they keep their feet warm and comfy.
I bought Daphne these baby slippers since it has an adjustable velcro and the fabric is really soft. Babies feet are so delicate and you do not want to fuss trying to get their feet in a too wide or too short slipper. These were by far the best ones. I kept them on her almost all the time night and day the first 3 months. I bought their size 0-3 months. Love love them!
If you enjoyed this list then I also shared my 2018 favorite fashion items here.
– Here is a quick list of my new favorite (tried and tested) brands of 2018 –
Although I have bought from a few new brands this year and have ordered some new ones to try. I am only featuring the ones that my kids have worn multiples times and that are totally worth it not only for their great quality but also for everyday wear & tear.
Tiny Victory : A Canadian brand of invisible zipper rompers in oh so soft fabrics easy to zip up quickly! Need I say more.
North Kinder: Also a Canadian brand, I love their very cool and slim fitted rockford jogger for Sasha and charcoal stripe shorts (in Summer), the fabric is thick and soo soft. The fit is small so make sure to size up!
Bajoue: A Canadian brand of grow with me rompers and pants that are so darn cute. The best part is that they come in 2 sizes 0-12 or 1-3T that’s right so simple. This helps to reduce the amount of baby clothing. I bought Daphne a romper and a pair of leggings for next year. They have limited prints but the fabric is incredibly thick and wears well.
Noppies: They have amazing quality and detailing on their baby & kids clothing. I have bought a few styles from them and absolutely LOVE them all. Their are basics but with very cool design and prints. Pricier but I usually size up so that they can get more wear out of them. They are sold in baby boutiques like this one which I love to order from since they often have sales.
Hanna Andersson: Honestly, I discovered this brand sincec they have matching family pyjamas in so many prints and colors. However, I since started buying sasha and Daphne a few pieces every season and the quality is SO GOOD. If you buy one of their suede like items then it is incredibly soft. The quality is so worth it, they get an A+ in my book. The sizing is big so you can buy their current sizes. You have duty fees but since the clothing is so good, colorful and wears well with matching outfits that I really dont’t mind.
Turbans for Tots: I have to say that they are one of the nicest brands I have ordered online. I have bought 3 different turbans for Daphne because they literally have like a 100 colors/prints. They also have bows and headbands. These are more for indoor wear in Winter and Spring-Summer-Fall Sunny weather. Everytime Daphne wears her little turbans people always comment how adorable they are on her.
Minimioche: The same brand as the biker rompers listed above…Functional organic basics that are comfortable and Canadian made.
I hope you enjoyed it! Please leave a comment if you have other favorite baby/toddler brands or products OR if you do try one of the items listed.
Color your style, color your food, color your life!
